Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of pulmonologists and other clinicians (e.g., pulmonary nurse practitioners and physician associates, allergists/clinical immunologists, and primary care clinicians) who manage patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
Series Overview
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) has no cure, and it is the third leading cause of death worldwide, with the number of new cases projected to rise by more than 20% in the next 3 decades. There is a clear need for ongoing education about the pathophysiology and management of COPD, as better understanding of the underlying inflammatory pathways and new classes of therapy emerge. In this Hot Topics series, an expert faculty will provide focused education on:
- identifying type 2 inflammation in COPD
- biologic therapies for COPD
- comprehensive evaluation of patients with COPD
- evolving treatment algorithms for eosinophilic COPD
Using a compelling delivery format that combines graphics and video, this educational series meets the needs of busy clinician learners who wish to stay up to date on the evolving COPD treatment landscape.
