Target Audience
This educational activity will address identified knowledge and practice gaps among community-based dermatologists, Mohs surgeons, radiation oncologists, community oncologists, and dermatology nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be better able to:
- Utilize the appropriate NMSC staging system so that patients at high risk of tumor progression are identified early in their course and can receive the most effective treatment.
- Describe the clinical trial efficacy and safety data of ICIs FDA-approved for the treatment of advanced cSCC and BCC.
- Incorporate the approaches to prevention, monitoring, and management of irAEs associated with immunotherapy.
- Develop strategies to improve multidisciplinary care coordination between dermatologists and oncology specialists.
Program Overview
Advanced nonmelanoma skin cancer (NMSC), including cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (cSCC) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC), represents a growing clinical challenge for community dermatologists, who often lack experience identifying high-risk disease, navigating rapidly evolving immunotherapy data, and coordinating care with oncology teams. BRIDGE ONCOLOGY is an accredited continuing medical education (CME) initiative that connects community dermatologists with local medical oncology experts, with the goal of equipping clinicians to identify, stage, and appropriately refer patients with advanced NMSC earlier, and with greater confidence.
Agenda
- Introduction
- Management of advanced cSCC
- Management of advanced BCC
- Immune-related adverse events
