Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of primary care providers (PCPs), obstetrician gynecologists (OBGYNs), functional medicine practitioners, and pediatricians involved in the treatment of patients with obesity.
Program Overview
Patients with obesity experience significant stigmas that often play a role in their decisions on how to manage their condition. In this episode, Dr. Fatima Cody Stanford and Dr. Mark Gomez discuss strategies on how to converse with a patient about their obesity, including the established benefits and adverse effects of using obesity medications, in a non-stigmatizing manner. They also review tips for educating the patient on proper self-administration of injectable obesity medication. Learn how you can apply these valuable strategies to effectively aid patients with their obesity management.

- Utilize effective communication strategies for education and shared decision-making for patients with obesity with attention to issues of stigma, race, and cultural considerations
