Program Overview
Follow Dr. Jason Halperin through the afternoon half of a simulated Preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) clinic day, beginning with a focused training session on implementing long-acting injectable (LAI) PrEP protocols in real-world practice, before moving into patient-centered encounters focused on PrEP initiation. Through cases involving a young adult interested in PrEP and an adolescent new patient, the activity emphasizes nonstigmatizing sexual health conversations, shared decision-making, consent considerations regarding minors, and baseline testing requirements. The morning concludes with a peer consultation on switching from oral to LAI PrEP, reinforcing guideline-directed HIV testing, patient counseling, and strategies to streamline access and administration.
