Program Overview

This conference coverage activity provides an overview of cereblon E3 ligase modulators (CELMoDs), including their mechanism of action and the evolving role of these novel agents in the treatment of multiple myeloma. Expert faculty review the current clinical development of iberdomide and mezigdomide, with a detailed discussion of recently presented efficacy and safety data on iberdomide from major international hematology meetings. The program concludes with a discussion between multiple myeloma expert Dr. Nisha Joseph and community hematologist/oncologist Dr. Samantha Shams, who examine the potential place of CELMoDs within future treatment algorithms and discuss considerations for integrating these emerging therapies into community practice.

Target Audience

This educational series is intended to provide continuing medical education (CME)/continuing education (CE) to health care clinicians involved in the treatment of hematologic malignancies, especially multiple myeloma (MM), including medical oncologists, hematologists, hematology/oncology (hem/onc) fellows, and advanced practice providers (APPs).

Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  1. Summarize the most recent clinical trial data on investigational therapies for MM, such as the novel CELMoD treatments, emerging from recent hematology/oncology conferences
  2. Discuss where novel CELMoD therapies would fit into future treatment algorithms for MM
  3. Describe strategies for incorporating CELMoD therapy into personalized medicine approaches in MM, based on the latest clinical data and potential future FDA-approval
