Target Audience
The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of oncology clinicians (physicians, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and nurses) managing patients with breast cancer.
Program Overview
Oncology clinicians face a set of complex factors when treating patients with metastatic breast cancer (mBC) using antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), from navigating emerging clinical trial data, to choosing appropriate ADCs for their patients' individual needs, to managing adverse events that may occur during or following treatment. Join Dr. Ana Garrido-Castro;as she guides learners through the "A Day in the Life of an Oncology Clinician: The Breast Cancer Experience" program and helps unravel some of the complexity surrounding ADC use in mBC. Using a unique digital format that combines physician-patient interactions with exciting didactic content and features a peer consult with Dr. Kelsey Sokol, learners will be immersed in the current treatment landscape for ADCs in mBC and have the opportunity to follow along with Dr. Garrido-Castro as she engages in clinical decision-making scenarios that may reflect what they see in daily practice.
Educational Objectives
After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:
- Describe the clinical profiles of currently available ADC therapy developed to treat advanced/metastatic BC
- Discuss the latest clinical trial data on currently available and emerging ADC monotherapy and combination therapies for patients with advanced/metastatic BC
- Individualize treatment with ADC therapy for advanced/metastatic BC based on patient and disease characteristics, treatment history, and biomarker testing
- Implement strategies to mitigate and manage potential treatment-emergent adverse events associated with ADC therapy
