Program Description

Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic, immune-mediated disease with an evolving therapeutic landscape. This Science in the Spotlight™ dinner symposium begins with a dynamic whiteboard animation that engages learners and shifts clinical thinking from symptom-based management toward a mechanism-driven approach to patient assessment and treatment. Faculty will explore the role of epithelial signaling and upstream alarmin cytokines in EoE pathogenesis before examining emerging biologic therapies targeting these pathways. Through interactive polling, practical clinical application, and expert discussion, attendees will gain evidence-based strategies to improve the diagnosis, evaluation, therapeutic selection, and long-term management of patients with EoE.

Target Audience

This educational activity has been designed to educate gastroenterology and allergy/clinical immunology clinicians who manage patients with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE).

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be better prepared to:

  1. Discuss the contributions of epithelial cytokine signaling to the pathophysiology of EoE, including implications for progression risks and treatment options
  2. Evaluate patients with suspected EoE in accordance with recent evidence-based guidelines
  3. Describe the clinical rational and published trial evidence for emerging biologic therapies in the treatment of EoE, including anti-TSLP agents
