Program Description

This Interactive Professor™activity is designed to educate pediatric dermatologists, dermatologists, and allergists/immunologists involved in the ongoing management of pediatric patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis. Using a case-based, question and answer approach, an international faculty expert will walk through the initial evaluation of Anders, a 10-year-old boy from Denmark, discuss comorbidities, previous treatments, new and emerging therapies for pediatric patients and individualizing treatment using a shared decision-making approach.

Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of pediatric dermatologists, dermatologists, and allergists involved in the ongoing management of pediatric patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis.

Learning Objectives

After completing this activity, participants will be better prepared to:

  1. Evaluate pediatric patients with atopic dermatitis for disease severity, biopsychosocial burdens, comorbidities, and treatment responses
  2. Discuss the clinical profiles and latest trial evidence for current and emerging targeted therapies in pediatric patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis
  3. Construct treatment regimens for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis based on disease severity, comorbidities, and shared decision making with pediatric patients and their caregivers

Physician Accreditation Statement

Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada

Activities held outside of Canada developed by a university, academy, specialty society, or other physician organization can be recorded as accredited group learning activities under Section 1 of the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada’s Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program.

Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education Credit

Activities certified by ACCME-accredited organizations may also allow Japanese learners to meet the criteria for Japan Accreditation Council for Medical Education credit.

Instructions to Receive Credit

In order to receive credit for this activity, the participant must complete the pretest, view the educational activity, score 75% or better on the posttest, and complete the program evaluation.
